This is an upgraded version of the B390 binocular microscope, adding epi-fluorescence to one of AmScope most popular microscopes for veterinarians, clinics, and classrooms. Its high-quality optics, precision mechanics, and overall scalability make this model a favorite for scaling labs. The epi-fluorescence functionality allows you to observe fluorescing specimens with incredible contrast. With filter blocks for blue and green excitation, a wide range of popular fluorophores are covered.
The binocular head can be customized for each user, with a sliding interpupillary adjuster for varying eye spacing, and diopters for both eyes to fine-tune focus for nearsighted users and for asymmetry. The head can be rotated 360°, and has a 45° incline for viewing while seated or standing. Interchangeable eyepieces allow for an expanded magnification range, or the use of special eyepieces with pointers and measuring reticles.
The objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels to easily focus in on minute details from 40X to 1000X. Additional 16X eyepieces expand the maximum magnification to 1600X with 8 unique levels. This covers magnifications needed for studying hair follicles, cells, and bacteria. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected to improve resolution and color accuracy.
The 2-layer mechanical stage provides smooth and precise movement for examination of specimen slides. The stage's low-position controls are conveniently placed near the coaxial focus knobs for a streamlined workflow. Examining specimen slides is intuitive and precise for users at any skill level.
The halogen sub-stage lighting provides bright illumination with excellent color rendering. The warm lighting is better suited for prolonged use, causing less eyestrain than LED and fluorescent lighting. The Abbe light condenser has a high 1.25 numerical aperture for oil-immersion, and an iris diaphragm to optimize contrast and depth-of-field. The condenser holder uses rack-and-pinion movement for precise height adjustment.
Fluorescence
The epi-fluorescence illumination system adds incredible versatility to the microscope. The ability to isolate fluorescing compounds allows you to target individual proteins and other nuances. The illuminator uses a high-power mercury arc-lamp for wide-spectrum excitation, with two filter blocks for blue and green excitation, covering a wide range of popular labeling agents and natural fluorophores.
Mercury HBO Excitation
Mercury HBO lamps produce a wide spectrum of wavelengths, including ultraviolet. While this fluorescent light-source can excite fluorophores throughout its entire spectrum, there are peak wavelengths with optimal output.
Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 6.3MP USB3.0 camera. The highly-sensitive back-illuminated sensor is designed for improved low-light imaging, making it suitable for fluorescence and darkfield microscopy. A 0.5X reduction lens is included for use with 23mm-30.5mm ports to capture more of the microscope's field-of-view. AmScope professional software for Windows provides a wide assortment of capture and photo-editing functions including color correction, time-lapse capture, image stitching, and a full complement of measuring tools. A lite version of AmScope software is comes for Mac and Linux with essential functionality for capturing photos and videos.
