The IN300T-FL is an inverted fluorescence microscope built for professional laboratories and universities focused on live-cell studies and a range of genetic research. It provides all of the necessary features for fluorescence, brightfield, and phase-contrast microscopy in an intuitive and economical design. Plan-fluor lenses provide a higher level of optical corrections and resolution for improved clarity.
The Viewing Head
The viewing head has a 45° incline and Siedentopf interpupillary adjustment for flexibility and comfort. Super-widefield optics provide a larger field-of-view so you can see more specimen at any magnification. For users with astigmatism or asymmetrical vision, the right ocular can be adjusted to fine-tune focus. The trinocular format provides a dedicated photo-port for mounting a microscopy camera for capturing photos or videos. The 23mm photo port is height-adjustable to match focus with the eyepieces.
Optics
The infinity-corrected optical system eliminates optical errors and ensures highly precise images. The quadruple objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels. This allows you to efficiently move through magnifications from 40X to 400X. Additional 25X eyepieces expand the maximum magnification to 1000X with 7 unique levels. These high-quality lenses are semi-apochromatically corrected for superior optical corrections and transmittance, with planatic flat-field correction to provide edge-to-edge sharpness.
The Stage
The large stage can accommodate slides, multi-well plates, dishes, and short flasks. Two plates are supplied for the stage's aperture, including glass and key-holed metal for varying light control. A large mechanical caliper can hold and position any of the sample templates for precision placement.
Transmitted Illumination
The transmitted illumination system uses a fixed-height, 30W incandescent light-source with integrated condenser, and slots for filters and a phase-annulus board. The annulus board provides two centerable phase-contrast annuli, as well as an open setting which can be used with colored filters for band-isolation or color-correction.
Phase Contrast
The 10X and 20X objective lenses are equipped with phase rings for phase-contrast observation. By sliding the provided phase-annulus board into the overhead lamp, the transmitted lighting is quickly changed to work with the objective lenses to enhance contrast in hard-to-see samples such as live cells which cannot be stained. By manipulating variances in phase caused by changing refractive indices, once imperceptible details can present as transitions from dark to light.
Epi-fluorescence Illumination
For fluorescence applications, a 100W mercury-vapor arc lamp provides a powerful, broad-spectrum light-source for excitation. The included blue and green excitation filter blocks cover a large range of popular fluorophores. Optional ultraviolet and violet excitation filters are also available.
Mercury HBO lamps produce a wide spectrum of wavelengths, including ultraviolet. While this fluorescent light-source can excite fluorophores throughout its entire spectrum, there are peak wavelengths with optimal output. The included filter blocks will accommodate a wide range of fluorophores, although the nature of mercury arc lamps limits effectiveness outside of the peak wavelengths.
Digital Imaging
The ultra-sensitive 3.1MP camera uses a cutting-edge monochrome Sony global-shutter sensor. The monochrome sensor is more efficient due to the lack of a color-filter array, maximizing the amount of light absorbed. The camera is designed to excel in low-light with high maximum framerates, and eliminates rolling-shutter distortion. The camera captures still images and video, and allows you to view a live stream on your PC. With software available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, it's a multi-platform imaging solution. The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features and specialized tools for fluorescence color-mapping. Independent preview and capture resolutions allow you to view high-speed video while capturing high-definition images. For Mac and Linux, there is a lite version with limited processing features.
