The IN330T provides high-resolution, infinity-corrected optics and an inverted illumination system in a stable, ergonomic design for observing cell cultures and other biological and chemical specimens in brightfield and phase-contrast. The inverted form accommodates larger specimen containers, with multiple specimen templates and mechanical stage controls to improve workflow. High-resolution optics and phase-contrast capability maximize contrast and clarity to ensure high quality images.
The Viewing Head
The viewing head has a 30° incline and Siedentopf interpupillary adjustment for flexibility and comfort. Super-widefield optics provide a larger field-of-view so you can see more specimen at any magnification. For users with astigmatism or asymmetrical vision, the left ocular is equipped with a diopter to adjust its focus. The switched trinocular port provides a dedicated mount for a camera to record photos or videos, and is height-adjustable to match focus with the eyepieces. The port uses 23mm YX-type interchangeable interface which can be replaced with an optional C-mount adapter.
Optics
The quintuple objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels with one open port for expansion. This allows you to efficiently move through magnifications. Additional 20X eyepieces provide an expanded magnification range of 40X to 800X with 6 unique levels. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected for superior optical corrections and transmittance, with planatic flat-field correction to provide edge-to-edge sharpness.
The Stage
The large stage can accommodate slides, multi-well plates, dishes, and short flasks. Two plates are supplied for the stage's aperture, including glass and key-holed metal for varying light control. A large mechanical caliper can hold and position any of the sample templates for precision placement.
Transmitted Illumination
The transmitted illumination system uses a fixed-height, 30W incandescent light-source with integrated condenser, and slots for filters and a phase-annulus board. The annulus board provides two centerable phase-contrast annuli, as well as an open setting which can be used with colored filters for band-isolation or color-correction.
Phase Contrast
The 10X and 20X objective lenses are equipped with phase rings for phase-contrast observation. By sliding the provided phase-annulus board into the overhead lamp, the transmitted lighting is quickly changed to work with the objective lenses to enhance contrast in hard-to-see samples such as live cells which cannot be stained. By manipulating variances in phase caused by changing refractive indices, once imperceptible details can present as transitions from dark to light.
Digital Imaging
Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 10.0MP USB2.0 camera. The C-mount camera is specially designed for use with microscopes, allowing you to watch live images, and to record photos or videos on your computer. This ability to view microscopic images on your computer reduces eye-strain, and allows groups of people to view images at the same time. A 0.5X reduction lens is included for use with 23mm-30.5mm ports to capture more of the microscope's field-of-view. Professional software for Windows provides a wide assortment of capture and photo-editing functions including color correction, time-lapse capture, image stitching, and a full complement of measuring tools. A lite version of software is available for Mac and Linux with essential functionality for capturing photos and videos.
