AmScope, ML-B-1, Cargille Type B High-Viscosity Immersion Oil for Light Microscopy
Cargille Type B immersion oil is the ideal choice for high-volume, general-purpose microscopy. The high viscosity provides better longevity than Type A oil, making it suitable for multiple uses without the need to re-apply. Type B immersion oil is better suited for professional use.
Immersion oil is necessary for high magnification microscopy when using oil-immersion objective lenses. Do not use with dry or water-immersion lenses. Immersion oil should also be used on oil-compatible light-condensers when working at high magnifications, as the oil ensures a consistent refractive index throughout the optical path, providing the highest resolution possible. For beginners and occasional users, Type A low-viscosity immersion oil is recommended because of its ease of use. For advanced and frequent users, Type B high-viscosity immersion oil provides better longevity for use with multiple Slide without the need to re-apply.
Immersion oil is not soluble in water. To thin or remove, use naptha, xylene, or turpentine, including Sparkle cleaner. Always follow standard safety protocols.
