The SM-2T is a turnkey trinocular stereo microscope solution for biological and industrial fields. Using AmScope workhorse SM745 head, it provides remarkable optical quality with a wide zoom magnification range. The dual-illumination base provides solid support, and both transmitted and reflected lighting for observing a range of objects, from biological cultures to PCBs. This trinocular model has an additional port for mounting a camera, which is simul-focal so it can be used simultaneously with both eyepieces.
Optics
The stereo optics provide clear, sharp images with excellent focus-depth and a large working-distance. With 0.7X-4.5X zoom objectives, moving through the magnification range is as easy as turning a knob. 10X wide-field eyepieces provide an ample magnification range from 7X to 45X, with high-eyepoint optics to accommodate glasses or goggles. 0.5X and 2X Barlow lenses are included, which can be alternated to either halve or double the magnification range, expanding the possible magnifications to 3.5X-90X.
Ocular Adjustment
Dual ocular diopters can be adjusted to maintain consistent focus, greatly improving productivity. Rotating interpupillary adjusters simplify the process of aligning the eyepieces for each user.
Simul-focal Trinocular Port
The simul-focal optics in this microscope allow the trinocular port to be used simultaneously with both eyepieces. This means a camera can stream live images from the microscope while you continue to work with full stereoscopic vision. This is accomplished by sharing the left objective lens with the left ocular and the photo-port. This microscope uses AmScope CX series trinocular port, so it can be easily replaced with optional C-mount ports to match specific cameras.
Dual-Illumination Stand
The dual-illumination stand provides a turnkey solution for biological and industrial applications. The pillar-based support system offers flexibility with its ability to quickly adjust height and lateral position. The microscope can be easily set and rotated in the mounting collar, and locked in place once adjusted. Large, symmetrical focus knobs provide the precision control needed, with adjustable tension for light or heavy loads as well as comfort.
Overhead and sub-stage halogen lighting allows you to work with opaque and translucent objects. The top light is mounted behind the head to provide offset light, and can be tilted for varied effect. This is useful for topological examination, such as with circuit boards and biological cultures. Thin tissue specimens, gemstones, and other translucent materials will benefit from the sub-stage transmitted lighting. A frosted glass stage-plate is provided to diffuse the light for more even back-lighting.
Digital Imaging
This microscope comes with an HDMI-capable digital camera, delivering 1080p video up to 60fps, and 2MP still images, even in low light. The highly-sensitive digital sensor makes this camera ideal for low-light applications, including darkfield and fluorescence. Able to be used as a standalone recording device using Secure Digital memory, or as a wi-fi camera on a networked computer, this is an extremely flexible imaging solution.
Connected to an HDMI monitor or TV, 1080p live video can be viewed at a super-smooth 60fps. The included USB mouse allows you to make adjustments in the internal software for settings such as white-balance and exposure, and control recording functions. As an alternative solution, connect to the camera over WiFi for remote software control, with 25fps streaming. The included Windows software offers image-development and measurement tools, as well as advanced compositing features such as image-stitching and extended-depth-of-focus. With the ability to calibrate scales at multiple magnifications, the software can be used for multi-level inspection. For Mac and Linux, there is a lite version of the software which can capture video and still images, and includes limited processing features.
