The T800 is a robust, high-performance microscope with precision optics for professionals in medical and research fields. The larger heavy-duty frame provides stability along with precision mechanics. The infinity-corrected, plan-achromatic optics provide high-resolution images with edge-to-edge sharpness, and optional apochromatic and semi-apochromatic objectives are available for improved resolution and transmittance. The Koehler illumination system is designed for precision, with a variable-NA swing-condenser allowing the use of high and low magnifications with full, even coverage. A range of optional accessories are available to expand functionality such as phase-contrast and darkfield.
Viewing Head
The microscope's head is designed for precision and comfort. The super-widefield optics provide a larger field-of-view so you can see more specimen at any magnification. Compensation-free Siedentopf interpupillary adjustment allows any user to properly align the oculars without readjusting focus. For users with astigmatism or asymmetrical vision, the left ocular can be adjusted to fine-tune focus. The photo port is equipped with a C-mount interface for attaching cameras without intermediary lenses, and is height-adjustable to match focus with the eyepieces. The port is compatible with CX series C-mount ports which are available with different levels of magnification for cameras with different sensor formats. An optional 23mm port adapter is available for use with 23mm reduction lenses. The head is set to a 30° incline which is ideal for viewing from a standing position, and it can be rotated 360°.
Optics
The infinity-corrected optical system eliminates optical errors when using filters and other in-line components, ensuring highly precise images. The quintuple objective turret provides instant access to 5 magnification levels to easily focus in on minute details from 40X to 1000X. This covers magnifications needed for studying hair follicles, cells, soil, and bacteria. The turret's reversed orientation provides more working room above the stage. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected to improve resolution and color accuracy, with planatic flat-field correction to provide edge-to-edge sharpness.
The Stage
The 2-layer mechanical stage provides smooth and precise movement for examination of specimen slides, with a large translation range for viewing larger samples. The stage's low-position controls are conveniently placed near the coaxial focus knobs for a streamlined workflow. Examining specimen slides is intuitive and precise for users at any skill level. Symmetrical focus controls are coaxially mounted for fast, intuitive focusing. Tension control lets you customize the feel to further enhance your workflow.
Koehler Transmitted Illumination
Built on Koehler illumination principals, the sub-stage lighting provides evenly-distributed light for optimal contrast. The rear-mounted 3W LED light-source ensures cool, energy-efficient illumination with low heat for live specimens. The bright light-source is daylight-balanced to produce natural. The light condenser uses a swing mechanism for optimized lighting at both high and low magnifications, with a NA0.22 setting for full coverage at extremely low magnifications. An iris diaphragm allows you to adjust the aperture to optimize contrast and depth-of-field. The condenser holder uses rack-and-pinion height adjustment for precision control, and is centerable for proper alignment. The condenser is top-mounted for easier replacement when working with additional condensers. The illuminator's field lens provides an iris diaphragm to control light-spread, optimizing contrast and definition in specimen features.
Digital Imaging
Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 2MP USB3.0 camera. With extraordinary sensitivity and a maximum framerate of 125fps, the MU203-BI provides high-definition imaging for low-light applications, including fluorescence and darkfield. Using a cutting-edge 2MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor with an incredible 2350mV sensitivity (1/30s), high gain-levels can be used for highly-responsive realtime video. A 0.37X reduction lens is included for use with 23mm-30.5mm ports to capture more of the microscope's field-of-view. Professional software for Windows provides a wide assortment of capture and photo-editing functions including color correction, time-lapse capture, image stitching, and a full complement of measuring tools. A lite version of software is available for Mac and Linux with essential functionality for capturing photos and videos.
