Emergency responders may not be able to reach the victim before permanent damage or even death occurs, but an AED (automated external defibrillator) like this device can allow someone without any medical training to deliver potentially life-saving treatment until help arrives. Designed to keep operation as simple as possible, this AED helps guide you through each step of a rescue and comes with smart design features to save time when setting up.
Electrode Pads / CPR Feedback Device
It comes with a pair of electrode pads with clear illustrations showing you where to place them on the patient's chest. The pads are non-polarized to allow placement on either location, and they are stored pre-connected to the AED to let you respond faster. The kit even comes with an optional non-slip Intellisense CPR feedback device that uses motion sensor technology to monitor the depth and rate of your chest compressions. If your compressions do not meet 2015 AHA and ERC CPR guidelines, then corrective voice prompts will be given!
Semi-Automatic Design
Once the pads are affixed to the patient, the process couldn't be simpler. Since it is a semi-automatic model, the AED will prompt you to deliver the shock at the appropriate time, and it is capable of quickly escalating energy levels to deliver a shock within 10 seconds, when needed. Clear text and voice prompts guide you through each step of the process and provide coaching for CPR, and there is just 1 button to press so that you can focus on treating the patient properly and confidently.
Regular Self-Checks
To ensure that you're always ready in the event of a rescue, this AED also self-checks all main components daily, and has a simple status indicator that shines green when the AED is ready to use, and red if it requires maintenance. It also automatically charges the high-voltage electronics so that they're ready to use, performing a partial charge every week and a full charge every month. A battery life indicator clearly shows the status of your unit's battery, and lets you know when it's time to replace it.
